Each morning when I wake up, I walk outside and I see the mountains. Some mornings are little more difficult to see them because of all the smoke in the air.. every day here is a blessing. In my time here in Thailand, I have found that one of the biggest ministries I get to be a part of is simply being a part of my team and worship. I am surrounded by some amazing ladies and I know that when go back home, I will miss them dearly. My team mates names are Lindsey, Charity, Aleena, Annie Laurie, Halle, Claire, Ellen, Juliana, and Serena. We have a wide range of backgounds and interests. I have girls here that just turned 18, girls that turn 19 next month, and girls in their 20's. It was an adjustment for me at first. We have an even mix of introverts and extroverts so it makes for interesting days. Some days we have bible studies and do worship, some days we watch a movie, some days we play word games. My favorite part are the days when we come together at night for feedback, and I get to hear about people's days. I don't spend 24/7 with the girls so when I hear the different funny stories that happened throughout the day, it brings me so much joy. I love doing one on ones with each of them. Getting to hear their testimony and the things the Lord has laid before each of them… It truly is an honor. This week, we went into town for our off day and went to the pool. While we were at the pool we got to have our own baptism. It was a beautiful time for me to see the girls take that step in their walk with Christ. I also proud of each of them. As well as working alongside my team, I have had the privilege of leading worship. My guitar, Sokah, has been passed around so many times I have lost count. Here at Sending Hope, we worship every night. We gather to sing praises to God all together in different languages. The girls have several guitars, drums, tambourines and love to sing. They are all very talented and the worship team is different every night. I love that! How great is it, the we have so many leaders here that we cycle through each week? It's very encouraging and I have also gotten to learn more guitar chords through the girls here. As well as me getting to learn, I have also taught quite a bit of guitar and singing to my teammates. This morning, my teammate Ellen learned a song and lead it for everyone on the guitar. She did so amazing and I am so proud of her for taking that leap of faith and being willing to worship God wholeheartedly. There are many girls on my team who are musically talented and don't even realize it. It's been an amazing adventure getting to see them open up and try it out and gain confidence in that. I am excited about the things the Lord has revealed to us here.

With all the love in the world, Brooke

  1. Brooke,
Thanks for your blog posts. Worship is amazing with our family – God our Father has giving us amazing brothers and sisters in the faith. I love how you are learning to love, like and appreciate one another – the church is so beautiful in its diversity.

Won’t even be magnificent – eternal worship. I am grateful that you know the fullness and beauty of worship in the here and now – a very small taste of forever.

    Love you…Mrs. P
